Pastor Robert Burrell, Sr. has been the Pastor of Holy Ghost Church Ministries for the past 12 years. Pastor Burrell answered his call to the ministry in 1970 and was ordained in 1975. Pastor Burrell has been a member of Holy Ghost Church since 1961 and has served as Sunday School Superintendent and Sunday School Teacher.

In 1985 he was appointed Assistant Pastor of Holy Ghost COGIC under the leadership of the late Pastor, Elder Herman H. Strong, Sr. In November of 1995, at the death of Pastor Strong, he became the Pastor of Holy Ghost Church. He was installed as pastor in the summer of 1996 by the late Bishop Jesse Stacks of Detroit, MI. Pastor Burrell has been married to First Lady Donna J. Burrell for 43 years. They have 3 adult children, Robert, Jr. (Helen Ann), Michael (Natalie), and Sereta (Damien) Klimek; 9 grandchildren (Davonte', Dalvin, Teron, Micheal, Ella, Kayleigh,Emily & Eva.

Pastor Burrell graduated from Central High School in 1960 and retired from General Motors, Buick Motor Division in 1994 after 32.8 years of Service. He also served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War, receiving an Honorable discharge in 1966. He recently graduated from theology school with a Ph.D from Destiny College International.

In 2001, Pastor Burrell modified the name of the church to Holy Ghost Church Ministries to more accurately reflect the present focus of the church on ministries. Pastor Burrell's vision is to see the church become the Biblical New Testament Church, through his passion to teach the Word of Faith. The Vision statement is: Becoming a New Testament Church by thinking on the Word with our minds. Believing the Word with our hearts, Speaking the Word with our mouth, and Acting the Word with our bodies. His prayer is that the Saints will learn to trust God and move in obedience to God through the power of the Holy Ghost for the edification and growth of the body of Christ at Holy Ghost Church Ministries.
